Ron Barker Quality Meats shop has been a butcher’s shop since the end of World War II. Ron took over the shop from the previous owner Glynn Hill over 25 years ago.

Ron has been working in butcher’s shops since he was 16. His first job was delivering meat in the basket of a bike and general cleaning duties for Baxter’s Butchers in Coventry city centre. From then, Ron trained as a butcher at Jack Connah’s and then after a brief stint away from the trade moved back into the business to work for Graham Francis’ Butchers in Coventry as an Assistant Manager.

Ron’s four children have all worked part-time in the shop through school, college or university and one of his daughters is now training as a butcher.
